It's time to explore our woodland. Go through the gate and follow the path.

1. We have a lot of different types of trees growing.
   As you walk along the path, see if you can find 5 different shaped leaves.

2. Which trees do you think the leaves are from?
   Have a look below at some of the leaves you might find:

   Hawthorn Beech Elder Hazel Cherry Field Maple

3. Find a leaf that you really like and show it to someone at our Visitor Centre.

Hawthorn

Hawthorn leaves are small and look like little Christmas trees.

Beech

Look at your leaf from the side, it is wavy just like waves at the beach.

Elder

Elder leaves are made up of loads of smaller leaves called leaflets.

Hazel

Hazel leaves have jagged looking edges and look and feel rough on their surface.

Cherry

Cherry leaves are fairly large and have a glossy surface.

Field Maple

Field maple leaves have the same shape as the maple leaf on the Canadian flag.
